The deflated balloons after a party have such a profound mood about them. Still beautiful colors, but falling, lumpy, tired and deflated. I love that about them. It is a moment of contrasts: the happy and the sad that it is over / the effort to make it special and then about to throw it in the trash. This painting is about that in-between time.
